Exploring post 016
One of the most important activities we do is to support our youth group. Young people between the age of 14 to 18 years old are being introduced to military history through our displays, activities and reenactments of battles that took place at the end of the WW2. They are involved in vintage military vehicles maintenance, operations and preservation. These activities are organized through BSA Exploring Post number 016 in Jupiter, Florida. If you or someone you know would be interested in joining our group, please contact us.
16th Armored Division in WW2
In April / May of 1945, the 16 AD was part of the forces, that liberated City of Pilsen, Czechoslovakia. Even though this unit did not have an impressive combat history and it was the last AD deployed during the WW2, these soldiers brought a freedom to people of Czechoslovakia, who were living under German occupation for long six years. Even today, people of Pilsen remember these events annually by popular Liberation Days festival, happening in May every year.
